Hey everyone,

Can Sweet n Low be recognized as sugar and affect my monitors scale.

I ate Hummus, which has 4 carbs and 0 sugar with rye and pumpernickel bread.

I might have had a banana, the only fruit I at all day, but it seems to raise my blood sugar alot, maybe I will refrain from eating bananas...

but anyway I drank all night last night, frequent thirst,

Nestea's Unsweetened Tea. The indrediants say black tea with water. and thats it.

than I add one packet per cup of tea Sweet n Low.

Can that have disturbed my sugars too

I woke up this morning, I couldnt sleep at 6am ...

and took my sugar monitor and I had 114 mg/dL as a reading...

could that have affected my reading... or do you think the banana before bed did me in ...

it was eight hours after intake of said banana.

help ... what do you think?

I do take in quite a bit of swlow... can it be recognized as sugar?

always

First, the sweet n low won't raise your sugar. But keep in mind that what you ate had a lot of carbs. The hummus had carbs (and unless you carefully measured, you may have eaten a lot more than 4g of carb) and the rye and pumpernickel bread also has a lot of carb. Remember too that 1/2 of a banana is a fruit exchange (15g of carb) so if you ate a whole one, that is the equivalent of 30g of carb.

Overall, if your glucose was 114, that's really not too bad and could be just as easily attributed to dawn phenomenon. What is your sugar normally if you don't eat the way you did?

      Take care.
